(Seattle, WA) – The Seattle Sounders Women return from a ten day break to battle the Fort Collins Force on Saturday July 17th at 4 PM. The game is a double header with the Sounders Men at Qwest Field.
In a previous match on the road, the Sounders Women played an exceptional game defeating the Force 5-1 on June 13th. Forward Brenda Mueller earned her only a hat trick of the year in that match. Leading the league in assists, midfielder Michelle French assisted three goals and pounded in a goal of her own in the 16th minute.

(Seattle, Wash.) - - The United Soccer League released Team of the Week honors for Week #13 late Tuesday. Sounder defenders Kevin Sakuda and Marco Velez earned Team of the Week honors for the first time this season.

(Seattle, Wash.) - - The Seattle Sounders play an important Western Conference game on July 17th against the Portland Timbers at Qwest Field at 7pm. A victory could help the Sounders gain critical ground in a tight Western Conference. Three points separate the Sounders from the second place Timbers with 27 points and four games in hand.
The Sounders are 1-1-1 over the past three games including a 0-0 draw with Western Conference leader, the Vancouver Whitecaps on July 10th. In the past 16 days the Sounders have played seven games including an exhibition game on July 13th.

(Seattle, Wash.) - - The Seattle Sounders hosted their 2nd Annual Kids Day
yesterday at Qwest Field. A crowd of 1,938 kids cheered the Sounders to a 4-2
victory over the Hibernian Saints F.C. in an exhibition match. Sounders
forward Craig Tomlinson scored two goals in the contest.
The Sounders 2nd Annual Kids Day featured a rematch of last year’s exhibition
game between the Sounders and the Saints. Throughout the match kids were
given t-shirts, soccer balls, and player trading cards as the players
interacted with the kids. The City of Lynnwood day camp participated in
soccer challenges on the field.

(Seattle, Wash.) – The Seattle Sounders’ were forced to settle for a goalless draw Saturday night at Qwest Field despite overwhelming the Vancouver Whitecaps with an onslaught of quality scoring chances. Sounders forward Roger Levesque had the majority of Seattle’s opportunities, but he could not beat Vancouver goalkeeper Alexandre Marques, who was in top form.
The first legitimate scoring chance of the game went to the Sounders late in the 12th minute when forward Roger Levesque was played through at the top of the 18-yard box. His curling, right-footed shot was punched away by Vancouver’s Marques.

(Seattle, Wash.) - - The Seattle Sounders will honor former defender Jeff Stock on July 10th on a Sounders Legend Night prior to kick off of the Sounders / Vancouver game at Qwest Field. Stock played 94 games for the Sounders between 1978 and 1983, and has remained an influential member of the greater Seattle community.
Signed out of high school, Stock began his professional soccer career with the Sounders in 1978. That year, Stock was in the running for the North American Soccer League (NASL) Rookie of the Year award.

(BURNABY, B.C.) - The Seattle Sounders fell to the Vancouver Whitecaps 1-0 in A-League action Friday at Swangard Stadium.
Neither team established a dominant presence early in the half although the Sounders had several scoring chances.
Jonathan Bolanos sent a through ball to Welton, just inside the Whitecaps 18-yard line. Whitecaps goalkeeper Alex Marques beat Welton to the ball thwarting the scoring attempt.

(Seattle, Wash.) - - The Seattle Sounders (7-7-2, 23 pts) take on Northwest rival and the conference leading Vancouver Whitecaps (8-5-1, 25 pts) in a home and home series on Friday July 9th in Vancouver and Saturday July 10th in Seattle. Friday's kick off at Swangard Stadium is the first meeting between these teams in 2004.
The Sounders and Whitecaps have a long competitive history. Last season the Sounders were 1-2-3 against the Whitecaps. The Sounders defeated Vancouver 6-5 in a shootout during the 2003 playoffs to advance to the Western Conference Championship.
