(Calgary, AB) – Calgary midfielder Steffan Holdt's three point performance helped the Mustangs to a 2-1 win over the Seattle Sounders at McMahon Stadium on Tuesday. The loss ended Seattle’s two game winning streak that included a 5-0 win over Calgary May 23rd at Seahawks Stadium.

The United Soccer League released Team of the Week honors for week seven; Sounders Danny Jackson (pictured) and Jason Farrell were recognized for their efforts in a 2-1 victory over the Milwaukee Wave United on May 28th.
Defender Danny Jackson was recognized among the week's best for his solid defensive play as the Sounders defeated the Wave United. Jackson has had a successful start to 2004 after rehabbing a torn ACL he suffered in August of 2003. Last season Jackson was selected to the A-League First Team and was also voted A-League.com's Defender of the Year.

After a four game home-stand the Seattle Sounders (2-2-1, 7pts) look to continue their winning ways as they hit the road for a two-game road trip through Canada. The Sounders will face the Calgary Mustangs (0-5-2, 2pts) and Edmonton Aviators (0-1-4, 4pts) before returning home to battle the Mustangs at home on June 6th.
After a 5-0 demolishing of Calgary in their first meeting, the Sounders are set to face the Mustangs at McMahon Stadium on June 2nd. In their first meeting the Sounders had two players, forwards Kyle Smith and Roger Levesque, score two goals as the Sounders earned their first win of the season.

In front of a crowd of 1,875, the Seattle Sounders defeated the Milwaukee Wave United 2-1 in Western Conference play on Friday May 28 at Seahawks Stadium.
Going into the game the Sounders were looking to improve their current record of 1-2-1, 4 pts, while the Wave United were still hunting for their first win of the season.
With many near misses in front of the goal, the Sounders couldn’t seem to slip a ball past starting goalie Jim Larkin. In the 45th minute of play Giuliano Oliviero scored the first goal of the season for Milwaukee when he received a pass 12 yards out from teammate Todd Dusoky .The first half ended with the Sounders out shooting Wave United 9-4.

The Sounders Women were up 1-0 after the half, but the Whitecaps came back with two goals in a row. The Sounders scored with five minutes left in regulation and forced the game into overtime. After two overtimes, the final score was 2-2.

The Sounders (1-2-1, 4pts) conclude a four game home stand this weekend when they face the Milwaukee Wave United on May 28th in Seahawks Stadium at 7pm. The Sounders were 1-1-0 against Milwaukee last year, including a 1-0 win in Seattle. The Sounders last faced Milwaukee on July 11th, 2003.
Milwaukee (0-1-1, 1pts), who just started their A-League season, is currently ranked sixth in the A-League Western Conference after a loss and a tie last weekend against the Minnesota Thunder. Last weekend was a U.S. Open Cup qualification series for the Wave United against the Thunder.

(Seattle, Wash.) - - The United Soccer League announced Team of the Week honors for week six yesterday, recognizing Sounders forward Roger Levesque for his five point performance in a 5-0 shutout of the Calgary Mustangs on May 23rd.
Levesque was involved in most of the Sounders offense against Calgary, scoring two goals and adding one assist. Early in the first half, Levesque sent a perfect through ball to forward Kyle Smith who was able to push the ball just past Mustang goalkeeper Lutz Pfannenstiel.

(Seattle, WA) – The Seattle Sounders dismantled the Calgary Mustangs on Sunday night 5-0, earning their first win of the 2004 season. The Sounders offense came alive as both Kyle Smith and Roger Levesque netted two goals, while Sounder newcomer Welton Melo notched his first strike of the year.

The Seattle Sounders statistically still have the possibility of getting in to the U.S. Open Cup with a secondary berth despite the loss last Saturday to the Portland Timbers. If the Sounders beat the Calgary Mustangs on May 23rd the Sounders chances improve, however they still need some help.

Team of the Week honors were announced today by the United Soccer League, for the second week in a row, a Seattle Sounder has earned a spot among the week’s best players. This time it was Sounders Women forward Brenda Mueller (pictured, center) for her two goal performance in the Sounders Women season opener against Calgary last Saturday.
