In a game of highs and lows, the Seattle Sounders were defeated by Miami FC 5-3 with a three goal performance by Brazilian Forward Romario at Tropical Park Stadium. A red card given to Sounders Midfielder Andrew Gregor forced the Sounders to play a man down nearly the entire match. The three goal output was a season high for the Sounders, all three goals were scored short handed. Romario broke the 3-3 tie in the 86th minute with an eight yard header, and Miami’s Oscar Gil finished the scoring with a goal in stoppage time.

Playing their fourth consecutive match on the road, the Seattle Sounders fell 4-1 to the Puerto Rico Islanders at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium. The Islanders handed the Sounders their fourth straight road loss, and marks the second time this season the Sounders have allowed four goals. Scoring the lone goal for the Sounders was Forward Roger Levesque.

U.S. Soccer announced yesterday, the third round pairings for the 2006 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The third round will take place on July 12th, with eight new entrants. The 2005 USL First Division Champion Seattle Sounders will join three other USL First Division clubs and four Major League Soccer teams facing winners of the June 28th second round games.

The Seattle Sounders travel cross-country as they begin another two game road trip, this time through Puerto Rico and Miami. The Sounders are in the middle of a seven game road stretch in the month of June. The Sounders square off with the Puerto Rico Islanders on Friday, June 16th before traveling to Miami to take on legendary Forward Romario and Miami FC on June 18th.

The Seattle Sounders announced today that defenders Stephen Keel and Jordan Harvey have joined the team on loan from the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. Keel and Harvey add to a Sounder back line plagued by injuries. Both players will join the team on the road trip to Puerto Rico and Miami.

The Seattle Sounders ended their two game road trip to the east coast with a 3-1 loss to the Atlanta Silverbacks at newly opened Re/Max Greater Atlanta Stadium. Down 2-0 late in the match, Sounder Midfielder Gabe Sturm connected with Forward Cam Weaver for Seattle’s lone goal.

(Charleston, SC) - - In their first match of a two-game road trip, the Seattle Sounders were shutout by the Charleston Battery 2-0 at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, SC. Both teams were evenly matched, but the Sounders weren’t able to capitalize on point-blank shot opportunities in the second half. With just 15 men available, the Sounders played with a slim roster as the team struggles with injuries.
