The Seattle Sounders fell to a strong Montreal Impact squad 2-1 on Saturday night at Qwest field. The Sounders took the lead on a Cam Weaver header in the 31st minute, but two unanswered goals by Montreal handed the Sounders their first loss in four matches. With the win Montreal rejoins Vancouver at the top of the table.

(Brown Summit, N.C.) - - The Seattle Sounders traveled to the east coast to face the Carolina Dynamo in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup at Macpherson Stadium. In a close match the Sounders fell 3-2 in the second overtime period on a goal by Dynamo Forward Darryl Roberts. Scoring for the Sounders were Forward Cam Weaver and Midfielder Andrew Gregor. Both goals were go-ahead tallies, but the Dynamo were able to respond quickly.

The Seattle Sounders have a busy week ahead, playing three matches in seven days including a road trip to the east coast as they begin 2006 U.S. Open Cup action. Starting in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup, the Sounders face the Carolina Dynamo (PDL) in Brown Summit, N.C. on July 12th. The Sounders then return home to face one of the top teams in the USL First Division in Montreal on Saturday, July 15th.

The Seattle Sounders begin U.S. Open Cup play with a third round match up on Wednesday, July 12th in Browns Summit, N.C. against the Carolina Dynamo of the USL Premier Development League (PDL). The Sounders enter the annual tournament in the third round as a result of winning the 2005 USL First Division Championship.

The Seattle Sounders battled Mexican powerhouse Club America in an international friendly to a 2-0 loss at Qwest Field. Former Argentinian National Team player and Club America Forward Claudio “El Piojo” Lopez netted two goals to secure the victory for the Aguilas in front of a crowd of over 10,000.

Mexican Premera Division team Club America makes it's first trip to the Pacific Northwest on July 8th to play the 2005 USL First Division Champion Seattle Sounders at Qwest Field. Celebrating their 90th year anniversary, Club America begins a nine game pre-season tour of the United States in the biggest international soccer match in Seattle since Manchester United.

The Sounders hosted the club's 4th Annual Kids Day at Qwest Field on July 6th, battling Tacoma FC to a 2-1 victory. The Sounders were cheered on by nearly 1,000 kids from youth clubs and organizations from as far away as Bellingham and Tacoma.

The Seattle Sounders have a week off from USL First Division matches, but host two big events this week. Starting with the club's 4th annual Kids Day on July 6th against Tacoma FC at Qwest Field, the Sounders then battle Mexico's Club America on Saturday, July 8th at Qwest Field.

The United Soccer League announced selections for the Team of the Week for Week 11 of USL First Division play. Selected as one of this week’s best was Sounder Midfielder C.J. Klaas for his game winning goal over Miami FC on July 1st at Qwest Field. Klaas’ goal was his first of the season.
