Courtesy of USLSoccer.com - - Rochester played the Battery to a scoreless draw in Charleston to win the semifinal series 1-0 on aggregate and advance to their first championship appearance since they won their last league title in 2001... Eduardo Sebrango scored on the road against his former side late in overtime to give the Whitecaps the lead in a 2-0 series overtime and aggregate score victory.
Weaver Selected As Finalist For USL First Division MVP & Rookie of the Year

The United Soccer Leagues (USL) announced Tuesday that Sounder Forward Cam Weaver is a finalist for the First Division’s Rookie of the Year and MVP awards. Weaver, a rookie out of Seattle University, led the league in scoring with 18 goals and 39 points in 2006.

Gregor & Weaver Earn All-League Honors, Sounders Announce 2006 Awards

Seattle Sounder Midfielder Andrew Gregor and Forward Cam Weaver were recently named to the USL First Division All-League First team as voted by USL coaches and general managers. In addition the Sounders announced today both the 2006 statistical and team-voted awards for Community Involvement and Defensive Player of the Year.

WEAVER CROWNED CO-SCORING CHAMP, O’BRIEN MAKES TEAM OF THE WEEK

The United Soccer Leagues and Seattle Sounders announced today that rookie Forward Cam Weaver was crowed the USL First Division’s Co-Scoring and Co-Goal Scoring Champion for the 2006 season. Weaver finished the year tied with Miami FC’s Romario, the 1994 World Cup MVP, at 18 goals and three assists for 39 points. Weaver is the first Sounder to win both titles in a single season since Mark Baena in 1998.
Puerto Rico Draw Eliminates Sounders From 2006 Playoffs

The Seattle Sounders were eliminated from the 2006 USL First Division playoffs due to a 1-1 draw between Miami FC and the Puerto Rico Islanders in Puerto Rico Sunday night. The Sounders needed at minimum a Miami win to remain in the hunt for the sixth and final seed.
Sounders Pull Out Magical Win Over Atlanta To Help Playoff Chances

The Seattle Sounders notched their biggest win of the season Saturday night at Qwest Field to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Sounder’s got goals from Maykel Galindo and Andrew Gregor to overtake the Atlanta Silverbacks 2-1 in a must win game. When all hope seemed lost Gregor’s goal came off a penalty in the 90th minute. The win could help the Sounders into the playoffs if Seattle gets the needed help from around the league.
Sounders Lose Early Lead, Fall 3-2 To Vancouver

(Burnaby, B.C.) - - In a critical match for both clubs, the Sounders fell to Vancouver 3-2 at Swangard Stadium on Friday night in classic Seattle vs. Vancouver fashion, physical. Jamal Sutton scored two goals to keep the Sounders competitive, but a flat Seattle side couldn’t handle the pressure from the Whitecaps offense who scored three unanswered goals. The Sounders missed their three leading goal scorers who were serving league suspensions for yellow card accumulations.
SOUNDERS FACE BIG WEEKEND WITH PLAYOFF IMPLICATIONS

The Seattle Sounders finish the 2006 regular season with two weekend games that will determine their playoff chances. Currently in a two way tie for the sixth and final playoff position with the Puerto Rico Islanders, the Sounders travel to Vancouver to face the Whitecaps on Friday and host the Atlanta Silverbacks on Saturday, September 9th at Qwest Field.
