The Seattle Sounders announced today the signing of new Goalkeeper David Mahoney, on loan from Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Chicago Fire. A Cornell University graduate, Mahoney stepped up in key games for the Fire in 2005, carrying the team into the post season.

Third leading scorer Mauricio Salles moved from Puerto Rico to Montreal while Portland’s Dan Antoniuk, who ranked fourth, went to Vancouver before being traded to Montreal.

The Seattle Sounders and United Soccer League (USL) announced today the 2006 USL First Division television schedule on Fox Soccer Channel. Two of the 11 USL First Division broadcasts will include the defending 2005 USL First Division Champion Sounders, beginning with Fox Soccer Channel’s first USL match on June 18th at Tropical Park in Miami.

The Seattle Sounders added depth to the midfield position with the re-signing of Midfielder Jake Sagare, it was announced today. Joining the Sounders midway through the 2005 season, Sagare played 755 total minutes helping the Sounders earn the 2005 USL First Division Championship.

The Seattle Sounders announced today the re-signing of Forward Craig Tomlinson. The Jamaican native joins the club for his seventh season in Seattle. A pre-season ACL and meniscus injury kept Tomlinson out of action for the 2005 season as the club won the USL First Division Championship.

The Seattle Sounders announced today the signing of University of California Santa Barbara defensive Midfielder Nate Boyden. As a 2005 co-captain, Boyden led the Gauchos to a 13-5-3 record, and second round NCAA tournament birth.

The Seattle Sounders signed University of California graduate and former San Jose Earthquake reserve Noah Merl for the 2006 season, it was announced today. As a Bear, the 6-1 defender played in every match during his collegiate career and started 64 straight matches in his final three seasons, scoring three goals and adding three assists.
