TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced the Virginia Beach Mariners USL First Division and Submariners Premier Development League franchises owned by Virginia Beach Soccer LLC (VBS) have been terminated by USL. As a result, the USL-1 team has been removed from the 2007 schedule and will not be replaced. All players under contract with the Mariners have been released and are free to sign with any team. A decision on the status of the PDL team will be made as early as next week.

The Seattle Sounders will open their 2007 season with an exhibition match, presented by U.S. Home Mortgage, against the Gonzaga University Bulldogs on Saturday, March 31, at the Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Tickets to the June second match between the Seattle Sounders and Chivas USA of Major League Soccer (MLS) at Qwest Field went on sale for Sounders season ticket holders today through the Sounders ticket office at (206) 622-3415. The general public will be able to purchase tickets to the match at 10am on April 2nd through ticketmaster.com or by calling (206) 628-0888.

After a dominant senior season at the University of Washington, Brandon Prideaux never got a call from Major League Soccer (MLS). Instead of sulking, the defender began to train with some of his friends on the Seattle Sounders.

This week is the Seattle Sounders final round of tryouts for the 2007 season. Players from colleges around the country along with a handful of players with professional experience have been invited to Seattle for a week of training with the Sounders coaching staff.

The Seattle Sounders today announced an exhibition game with Los Angeles based Chivas USA of Major League Soccer (MLS) on June 2, 7:00 PM at Qwest Field. The game was part of Chivas USA deal to acquire forward Maykel Galindo, who, after spending two seasons with the Sounders, moved on to the MLS club in early February.

The Seattle Sounders announced today single game tickets will be available to the public starting Mon. March 26 at 10am. Fans can purchase single game tickets for every Sounders home match including can’t miss matches against the Portland Timbers, Vancouver Whitecaps and Montreal Impact.
