SEATTLE- Seattle Sounders midfielder Leighton O’Brien was acknowledged by the United Soccer Leagues for his two goal performance over the weekend, in Atlanta and Charleston.

Atlanta, Ga. - Roger Levesque's team-leading sixth goal of the season broke the tie and propelled the Seattle Sounders into the United Soccer league First Division playoffs with a 2-1 win over the Atlanta Silverbacks before 1,469 at Memorial Stadium.

Charleston, S.C.. - For the fourth straight game the Seattle Sounders failed to hold a second half lead. Only this time, instead of settling for a tie and one point, they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Charleston Battery Friday before 3,371 at Blackbaud Stadium.

SEATTLE – The Seattle Sounders tied the Puerto Rico Islanders 2-2 Friday night in front of 3,527 fans at Qwest Field. Rookie Brent Whitfield continued his impressive play with a goal and assist in the first half, but it wasn’t enough to top Islanders forward Mauricio Salles’ two goals – one being a tremendous long-range effort in the 74th minute that equalized the match.

SEATTLE- Veteran defender Scott Jenkins was recognized by the United Soccer Leagues today for his goal in 1-1 draw at Portland on Saturday, August 20th.
