Seattle Sounders Forward Sebastien Le Toux’s hat trick performance against the California Victory last week earned him USL First Division Player of the week honors in the final week of the season. The red hot Sounders forward was joined on the Team of the Week by midfielder Leighton O’Brien, who earned his second selection in three weeks.
Le Toux finished tied with Montreal’s Charles Gbeke for the league lead in goals scored, storming past teammate Roger Levesque who had led the Sounders in league tallies for much of the season. Levesque assisted two of the three goals and finished tied for third overall in total points scored.
O’Brien continued his fine form, controlling the Sounders midfield and taking advantage of a mistake by the Minnesota defense to give the Sounders the win and capture the 2007 USL First Division Regular Season Title.
The Sounders open their playoff run Friday night in Carolina against the eighth seed Railhawks before returning home Sunday afternoon for the home leg of their home and away aggregate series. Kickoff is at 6pm at Qwest Field Sunday and tickets are available through SeattleSounders.net or by calling 206.622.3415.
