SEATTLE TACOMA PLAY TO 2-2 DRAW
Posted 7/9/2007

The Seattle Sounders played to a 2-2 draw against the Tacoma Tide in an exhibition match Saturday evening at Curtis High School in front of approximately 1,000 fans of the two clubs.

Craig Tomlinson and Hugo Alcaraz-Cuellar scored for the Sounders. Kieran O’Brien and Spencer Schmomaker tallied for the Tide, who took an early lead only to see the professional side even the score in the second half.

Sounders newly signed defender Taylor Graham was taken out of the match in the 85th minute with a cut that required stitches after the game. He is questionable for Thursday’s regular season meeting between Seattle and Vancouver at Qwest Field.

The Sounders match vs the Whitecaps was originally scheduled for Friday July 13th, but was moved due to schedule conflicts at Qwest Field. The newly scheduled match is July 12th at 7 PM.

Next Wednesday, July 18th, the Sounders will face Chivas USA in the U.S. Open Cup at Qwest Field. It’s the third meeting between the clubs in the last two years, but the first with more than bragging rights on the line. The winner of the match will host a match against either the California Victory or Colorado Rapids on August 7th.
