The Seattle Sounders, in a continued effort to reach out to the local community, will play a pair of benefit matches on June 17 and 20.
On June 17 the Sounders men and women will play the first ever co-ed benefit match to raise funds for the family of Marin Morrison, a record setting high school swimmer from Atlanta who has been paralyzed on the right side of her body by a brain tumor wrapped around her temporal lobe. The event will be held at Issaquah High School at 4pm and tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Tickets for this match are only available at the event and all proceeds go to support the Morrison family.
June 20 will see the Sounders face off against the 2006 All Nations Cup Champion’s Russia at Starfire Sports Entertainment Complex at 7pm. Tickets are $10 at the door and proceeds go to benefit the All Nations Cup.
The Sounders USL First Division regular season continues on June 23 when Seattle faces the Montreal Impact at Qwest Field and June 28 when Miami FC travels to the Northwest to face the Sounders.
If Seattle wins the June 12 U.S Open Cup First Round match-up against Banat Arsenal, then the Sounder would play a second round match against either, the Portland Timbers or Bakersfield Brigade on June 26. The location of that match will be determined after first round play is complete.
More information is available about all of the Sounders home and away matches through SeattleSounders.net.
