Bio:

Last year saw Jackson step forward as the leader of the Sounders defense. His guidance and direction were essential to holding together a defensive squad decimated by injuries and riddled with inexperience.

Jackson played for the MLS Colorado Rapids in 2002. Joining the Seattle side in 2003, Jackson received the Sounders Defender of the Year and A-League.com Defender of the Year honors.

Jackson was born in England and played soccer in the Leeds United Youth Program. He came to the United States to play collegiate soccer at the University of North Carolina.

As a Tarheel, Jackson was nominated for the All-South Team from 1998-2001. He was All-ACC and All-American in 2000 and 2001. Jackson was the team captain for three years including the 2001 season when the Tarheels won the NCAA Division I National Championship over Indiana University. In the 2001 National Tournament, Jackson was named Soccer American MVP, National Championship MVP and was voted to the Final Four All-Tournament Team..
