Bio: Goalkeeper James Ward joins the Sounders for a second season. Ward was a back up to Preston Burpo on the Sounders 2005 USL First Division Championship team, and recorded 19 minutes on the field.
A graduate of Seattle Pacific University, Ward was a 2nd Team All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference and captain his senior season. As the first freshman to start in goal at SPU since former Sounders and current U.S. National team member Marcus Hahnemann, Ward earned GNAC Freshman of the Year and was selected to the First Team All-GNAC. He also received First Team All-GNAC honors as a junior.
Ward also clocked some time on the field, playing in both the forward and defensive midfield roles at SPU.
