Bio: As a 2004 National Champion with Seattle University, Defender Jake Besagno returns for his second season with the Seattle Sounders. As a Redhawk, Besagno anchored a tough defensive line his entire collegiate career.
A durable defender, Besagno played in every match his last three seasons a Seattle University. Besagno scored eight career goals from the back line, including five his sophomore season. As a sophomore, he helped the team post a mere 1.18 goals against average, and was named to the Second Team All-GNAC. In 2001, as a freshman, Besagno was an honorable mention GNAC selection, starting all but one match for the Redhawks that season.
