Bio: The former Costa Rican National Team member is signed through the remainder of the 2004 season.

The 26 year-old Bolaños made his Major League Soccer (MLS) debut on October 4, 2003 with the Chicago Fire. In his first MLS start on October 26th, Bolaños earned his first point on an assist just three minutes into the match.

At the age of 22, the 170 lb Bolaños played on the 2000 Costa Rican Olympic team, and earned five caps with the Costa Rican National team during the 2000 World Cup. Bolaños helped the Costa Rican team defeat the U.S. 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier in 2000 in Costa Rica.

As a teenager, Bolaños joined the Costa Rican National program in 1994 with the U-17 team. In 1995, he played for both the U-17 and U-20 national teams until 1997 when he joined the U-23 team. Bolaños played with the U-23 team until 2000 when he joined the World Cup squad.

Playing for well known teams in Latin America, Bolaños began his professional career in 1997 with Herdiano, a first division Costa Rican team. Bolaños then played in Mexico for two seasons with La Piedad, where he led the team to the 2002 Clausura Championship. Moving back to Costa Rica, Bolaños played for CD Saprissa and LD Alajuelense in 2002 and 2003, both first division teams.
