Bio: Midfielder Kevin Sakuda returns to the Seattle side for his fourth season. Playing in every match in 2005, Sakuda netted one goal and added an assist. In his three-season Sounder career, Sakuda has already played in 63 regular season games, totaling nearly 5,000 minutes.

The six-foot midfielder was drafted by Major League Soccer’s (MLS) San Jose Earthquakes in 2002 after a successful collegiate career at Duke University. Starting 81 consecutive games, the California native led the Blue Devils to an ACC title in 1999 as a sophomore and to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Sakuda was an All-ACC Second Team pick his senior year (2002). In his freshman season at Duke, Sakuda was voted to the Soccer New All-Freshman Team and the ACC All Tournament Team in 1998.

Sakuda played defender for two seasons with Major Indoor Soccer League’s (MISL) San Diego Sockers, and currently plays for the Seattle Seawolves of the Developmental Indoor Soccer League (DISL).

Highlights of Sakuda’s youth career include: a member of the California State ODP tram from 1995-98; a member California’s Under-19 state Champions in 1997; four-year All-League player for Mission San Jose High School and a member of the U-20 National Team.
