Bio: Treschuk will experience his first year pro with the Sounders after a much
traveled amateur career. The Honolulu native and Penn State
University product has played the Netherlands, Atlanta and Hawaii.
Treschuk will be the second Honolulu Bull to play for the Sounders. The first was Houston Dynamo and U.S. National team forward Brian Ching, who used his time in Seattle during 2001 and 2002 to turn his career around.
Treschuk’s overseas experience included trials with FC Groningen and Feyenord in the Dutch First Division and played with HCSC in Den Helder competing as an amateur.
At Penn State Treschuk played in 81 matches and majored in psychology. He was named three times to the Big Ten All Academic Team and was on the Arthur Ashe Junior Sports Scholars Second Team in 2003.
