Bio: The 2006 season is Forward Jamal Sutton's first season with the Sounders. The Wichita, Kansas native was drafted by the Crew in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, and made his MLS debut in the Crew’s 2004 season opener as a sub. Sutton played 330 minutes, starting three of the eight games he played in 2005, scoring one goal and adding one assist.
Sutton finished his collegiate career at Southwestern Missouri State (SMS) among the top scorers in the school’s history. His 70 points place him third on the all-time points list, and his 26 college career goals are the fourth best in SMS history. Sutton was named to the NSCAA/Adidas All-Midwest third team and All-MVC second team in both his junior and senior seasons. As a sophomore, Sutton was an All-MVC selection recording 11 goals and a team high 24 points that season.
In 2001, Sutton played for the USL's Premier Development League Wichita Jets between his sophomore and junior seasons at SMS.
At Wichita Southeast High, Sutton doubled as an all-city and all-state honorable mention placekicker on the school's football team.
